Drying is removing moisture from pipelines and is utilized for a variety of applications. That’s because moisture produces rust and is the catalyst for advanced corrosion in pipelines.
JP Services provides cleaning and drying services for both new construction and for those lines previously in service, post hydrostatic testing. DOT regulations require lines previously in service to be tested, cleaned and dried every seven years. New construction is cleaned and dried to meet or exceed customer mandate.
JP Services maintains the standard dew point of -40 degrees, although we are capable of drying from a dew point of 0 to -80 degrees utilizing dehydrated air and/or nitrogen. This ensures that all ambient air has been evacuated and the line is sufficiently moisture free to meet product dryness requirements. This is particularly important in new construction in order to prevent corrosion while the line is dormant prior to commissioning.
